I design and program games in JavaScript for experiments about politics. The games run on all popular desktop browsers and can be embedded in survey software such as Qualtrics. Below are demonstrations of my experimental games, tutorials for embedding custom software into survey platforms, and links to the corresponding scholarly publications.

I programmed voting games for my research about tax preferences. In the games, players earn a high or low income and then vote on the tax rate. My research, published in Perspectives on Politics, demonstrates how political scientists can use virtual environments to isolate and disentangle the causes of people's tax preferences. We find that poor voters misunderstand taxes even in simplified settings because they weigh the burdens of taxes more heavily than the benefits taxes fund. Click below to play!
